2003 erschien mit »Dick This!« das Debütalbum von Dick Brave & The Backbeats. Die Kunstfigur Dick Brave, einen Rockabilly-Sänger aus Kanada, hatte der deutsche Popstar Sasha ein Jahr zuvor erfunden und die Band ins Leben gerufen. Zu den anderen Musikern gehören André Tolba »Adriano Batolba« (Gitarre), Maik Schott »Mike Scott« (Piano), Felix Wiegand »Phil X Hanson« (Bass) und Martell Beigang »Matt L. Hanson« (Schlagzeug).Inspiration für den Bandnamen fanden sie bei Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds.
Ihr erstes Album enthält 17 Songs im Rockabilly-Style, eigene Stücke und Cover, darunter Versionen von »Take Good Care Of My Baby« von Carole King und Gerry Goffin, »Get The Party Started« von Pink oder »Walk This Way« von Aerosmith. Das Album erreichte Platz eins der deutschen Charts.
2021 gibt es »Dick This!« jetzt auf Platte, und zwar auf Orange Transparent Vinyl.
