Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have known and appreciated each other since .Paak was part of the European tour for Bruno Mars' latest album "24K Magic" in 2017. During a late-night jam session during the tour, the chemistry was instantaneous.
Just before the world went into quarantine, Bruno called Anderson: " Remember that idea we had back then? Let's do it. " A studio session turned into a months-long collaboration, which then gave birth to the feel-good duo Silk Sonic and a "setlist of doom" in March 2021. By the way, the question of finding a name was answered by none other than the legendary Bootsy Collins. He lifted the name Silk Sonic from the baptism and while he was already there, he is also immediately involved as a "special guest host" at "An Evening With Silk Sonic".
