In keeping with the raw and unpolished aesthetic we handstamped all the labels for this limited edition 45. The A side is the demo recording Bobby Oroza made at home on an MPC to send to the guy at Timmion hoping to get them interested in working with him. Needless to say that connection was made and the first song they ever made together is the studio version of "This Love" that has gone on to be a proper hit for Bobby. The B side is a real charmer. When working with Lee Fields, producer Leon Michels would often send Lee a "scratch vocal" of the song for Lee to learn before he came into the studio to record it. Here we have El Michels singing "Will I Get Off Easy" and giving it a different energy, laying down the foundation for what would go on to be one of the stand out tracks from Lee's It Rains Love album.

For our Deluxe Edition we’ve split these full tracks across 2 LP’s in a completely separate pressing that features the expanded 13 tracks. Remastered by Josh Bonati from original source materials, the Deluxe Edition includes a booklet with liner notes from Drew Daniel (Matmos) and quotes from Stephen Thrower, Rose McDowall, Steven Stapleton, Charles Hayward, Billy McGee, Marc Almond, Andy Wombwell and Annie Bandez. Like the Standard Edition, the Deluxe Edition will be available in both Black and a color variant but the expanded 2LP set will not be repressed after this run. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Listening to 3D Massacre on the 20th anniversary of its birth, I get a vibe of nostalgia. I remember the young man from those days and how records like this one became my secret weapon against the stresses of college and financial strains of the time. That feeling that returns you to an era when you discovered an artist's demo or debut and heard something in the music that just grabbed hold of you. 3D is a raw record indeed and what it lacks in cohesion it makes up for in interesting, poetic lyrics, charm, and a tremendous whirlwind of creative energy. With its focus on lyrics and barely a chorus to be found, the record is a barrage of verses with Xczircles, Amnesia, and Aamir even having solo tracks intermingled throughout the record. 3D Massacre is moody, dusty, atmospheric, ripe with imagery, and beautifully obscure, but most importantly, it always makes the head nod and sets the mind adrift.

Sony Music Entertainment veröffentlicht mit Ultra | The 12" Singles am 10.09.2021 ein neues Deluxe-Boxset aus der erfolgreichen Collector’s Edition.

Das Set enthält acht Vinyl-Maxis, die die Singles Barrel of a Gun, It’s No Good, Home und Useless featuren. Dazu kommen spannende B-Seiten, Mixes und Live-Mitschnitte aus der Zeit, als Ultra, das neunte Studioalbum der Band auf den Markt kam (Release: 14.04.1997).

Auf drei* Maxi-Singles des Boxsets sind Tracks zu hören, die 1997 als CD-Singles veröffentlicht wurden. Die Cover dieser Scheiben, die nun - mit neu kompilierter Tracklist - erstmals auf 12"-Vinyl erscheinen, entsprechen in ihrem Artwork den Original-CDs.

Ultra war das erste DM-Album seit dem 1982 erschienenen A Broken Frame, das die Band als Trio (Martin Gore, David Gahan, Andrew Fletcher) einspielte. Depeche Mode setzten auch mit dieser LP, auf der die Klassiker "Barrel of a Gun", "It's No Good", "Home" und "Useless" zu hören sind, die erfolgreiche Tradition fort, begleitend zu ihren Alben spektakuläre Maxi-Singles auf den Markt zu bringen.

Schon in den frühen Band-Tagen hatten Depeche Mode das 12"-Format für sich entdeckt und die innovativen Möglichkeiten, die es bot, voll aus-
geschöpft. Maxi-Singles waren wie geschaffen dafür, neue Sounds zu erforschen und das Cover bot eine große Fläche für spannende visuelle Experimente. DM-Fans liebten diese Veröffentlichungen, weil sie mit ausgefallenen Remixes, seltenen B-Seiten oder mitreißenden Live-Performances aufwarteten.

Die ersten Sets der Edition - Speak & Spell | The Singles und A Broken Frame | The Singles - erschienen im August 2018. Im Dezember desselben Jahres folgten Construction Time Again | The 12" Singles und Some Great Reward | The 12" Singles. Fortgesetzt wurde die Reihe im Mai 2019 mit Black Celebration | The 12" Singles und Music For The Masses | The 12" Singles. Violator | The 12" Singles kam im Juli 2020 auf den Markt und die jüngste Ausgabe, Songs of Faith and Devotion | The 12" Singles, erschien im Oktober 2020.

Jedes Boxset der Serie widmet sich den Singles eines bestimmten Depeche Mode-Albums. Die Tracks der audiophilen Vinyl-Maxis wurden anhand der Original-Tapes geremastert. Im Design lehnen sich die Boxen an die ursprünglichen Alben an, die Cover der versammelten Platten entsprechen im Artwork ihren Originalen.

Straightaways is the second album by the American rock band Son Volt. It was released on April 22, 1997. The group was formed by Jay Farrar after his previous band Uncle Tupelo broke up. While their first album was still very alt-country oriented, Straightaways featured a more alternative rock sound. Overall, the album was received well and further cemented Son Volt’s popularity.

Singer-songwriter Tim Dawn’s debut-album includes the hits "“To Love Somebody” and “Walking On A Wire”. The inspiration for “Everyday Magic” came after a trip to Los Angeles, where he worked with several songwriters and producers. Tim writes deep and sensitive songs which are, at the same time, modern and fresh. His breakthrough single “Walking On Wire”, became NPO Radio 2 TopSong in 2018. The Bee Gees cover “To Love Somebody” was featured as the song for the PLUS supermarkets Christmas commercial.

“Everyday Magic” is available as a limited edition of 500 copies individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl.

Most fans of hardcore Hip-Hop know and love Benny The Butcher and 38 Spesh's 2018 joint album Stabbed & Shot, yet many aren't aware that before that there was Cocaine Cowboys. The duo dropped this potent joint mixtape back in 2008. They split the project into two parts and added a couple hard-to-find bonus cuts for the vinyl release. Plus, new alternate art by the one and only Manuel "Cep" Concepcion only available on this second edition re-release.

‘Almas Conectadas’ (Connected Souls) is the sophomore album from renowned British producer Will “Quantic” Holland and Colombian folklore singer-songwriter Nidia Góngora. Bubbling with symphonic flourishes, the release explores the unique, rich, and mystical musical traditions of the Colombian Pacific Coast while being recorded at Quantic’s Brooklyn-based studio and creative powerhouse Selva. Delving into the concept of the album, Nidia explains:

Mmyykk’s Science EP arrives at a time when the world needs it. The eponymous title track is about recognising the power and connection that we all have to the cosmos - and it feels like no coincidence that this body of work arrives in 2021.

The EP balances universal themes with playfulness; asks hard questions relating to accountability and materiality whilst remaining musically cohesive and funky throughout. An exceedingly difficult artist to pigeonhole, Mmyykk (pronounced Mike) works concurrently within the realms of soul, jazz, hip hop, R&B and ambient; his sound equally indebted to his fellow west-coast natives Thundercat and Flying Lotus as it is to synth experimentalists Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder.

Whilst Mmyykk operates as the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer & engineer across all 6 tracks, we can still hear the richness of improvisation musical collaboration involved in the making of this record, with numerous cameos from artists in Mmyykk’s adopted hometown of Minneapolis as well as a feature from London’s very own Demae.

The city of Minneapolis, whilst not addressed directly in the lyrics, provided a backdrop like no other whilst this album was coming together. Being at the epicentre of such a tragedy had a profound effect on the formation of the EP... “The City was literally burning...” Mmyykk recalls as he goes on to explain that tackling themes such as police reform, reparations and accountability in his work is his way of taking a stand in the fight for justice.

Despite the grief prevalent in the city, the EP exudes a complex “dopeness”, executed so effortlessly it belies the skill involved in the process - it’s precisely this nonchalant cool that defines what Science means to the artist.

Whilst we can dissect the inspirations and trace the lineage of this body of work- the result is singular. It’s clear that Mychal Fisher, aka Mmyykk is operating on his own terms, in a lane of his own - and making it look easy.

Str4ta ist das neue Projekt von Gilles Peterson & Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick und Katalysator für eine neue Welle des Jazz-Funk. After moving to New York City in 1978, Mikio Masuda crafted "Corazón" alongside composer / pianist Dave Matthews, notable collaborator of the likes of Nina Simone, Idris Muhammad, Yusef Lateef and Buddy Rich. Originally released on the japanese fusion jazz label Electric Bird in 1979, this also represents his first recording outside of Japan, at the famous Electric Lady studios in New York. The album features a cover of Carole King's "Corazón", Sadao Watanabe's tune "Samba Em Praia", the caribbean vibe "Ride On The Donkey", "Another Rainy Day In New York City"/"Love Talkin" played in the pure Bob James style, as well as a variation of Masuda's classic "Let's Get Together".
