In October 2021, Richard Ashcroft released his acoustic album "Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1," for which the Britpop icon re-recorded a few of his hits, including solo pieces and a couple of The Verve classics. Highlights of the collection also include a new version of "C'mon People (We're Making It Now)" along with Oasis legend Liam Gallagher. The song comes from Ashcroft's 2000 solo debut "Alone With Everybody" and has been a shared favorite of the two musicians since Richard played it to Liam on a piano somewhere in Mallorca in 1998. The two had talked about recording the track together many times before.

2022 Richard Ashcroft is now releasing a limited edition 7ʺ single of "C'mon People (We're Making It Now)" featuring Liam Gallagher. It comes in the form of the "Don't Stop Now Mix" and is joined on the flipside by a version of John Lennon's "Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple)".
