Leftfield, one of the UK's most respected and innovative dance acts, officially announce their first album in seven years, "This Is What We Do," and release a new track titled "Pulse." "This Is What We Do" is Leftfield's first album of new music since 2015's acclaimed "Alternative Light Source." The album was co-produced with longtime studio and mixing engineer Adam Wren and features guest contributions from Fontaines D. C. frontman Grian Chatten and Lemn Sissay, among others.
"This Is What We Do" is an eclectic long player that embodies the optimistic spirit of the iconic dance music act. The album, which explores themes of love, acceptance, diversity and healing, was written before and after two extremely challenging and transformative periods in the life of Leftfield's Neil Barnes. The global pandemic and his personal health crisis both had a direct impact on the creative process, with his own urge to heal a childhood trauma providing the backdrop. The result is a rich, vibrant, positive and potent cocktail of evocative tracks that embody Leftfield's uncompromising approach to dance music. "This Is What We Do" is a positive and powerful album that explores personal themes that also reflect our current global experiences.
