KAINA has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene for years and her eclectic mix of R&B, soul, funk, psychedelic and pop convinced City Slang to sign this extremely talented artist! Raise the curtain on KAINA!

KAINA, born to immigrants in Chicago, creates music that crosses borders and appeals to a wide-ranging community of people raised among languages, cultures, regions and genres. KAINA has catapulted to the forefront of a new wave of artists changing the musical landscape through profound representation. Her previous projects, the 2016 EP Sweet As I and her 2019 debut album Next To The Sun, established KAINA as a critically acclaimed artist and gave her a cult following. The projects showcased her signature sound of sweet optimism and devastating authenticity, which she uses as a means to uplift and build community. She has previously collaborated with Saba, The O'My's, Sen Morimoto and through multidisciplinary work in Chicago with various organizations.
