"In 1969, electronic music pioneer Bruce Haack built one of the first truly musical vocoders. He named it Farad after 1800s English chemist/physicist Michael Faraday, who many historians refer to as the greatest experimentalist in the history of science and whose efforts made electricity become viable for use in technology."
