An early version of The Dark Side of The Moon was first performed at the Rainbow Theatre in London, a few months months before the band went into the studio. It was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at the EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London. recorded. It is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd and was originally released in March 1973. The iconic album packaging, which depicts a spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis.
