2015 Reissue - Black Double Vinyl in Gatefold Sleeve.

Though listed as the Red House Painters this is, for all intents and purposes, the debut solo record from Mark Kozelek. After a 4 record run for 4AD this album was originally released on the Island subsidiary Supreme. Recorded with a new backing band this is the first Red House Painters record on which Kozelek really let's his rock chops loose, a forerunner to his more recent, critically acclaimed, work with Sun Kil Moon. Alongside brilliant originals are 3 covers, highlighting Kozelek's interpretive skills, of Yes ("Long Distance Runaround"), the Cars ("All Mixed Up"), and Wings ("Silly Love Songs").

On vinyl for the very first time in a long time, 180 gram double LP in a deluxe gatefold package. Received a 9. 0 rating from Pitchfork Media. Red House Painter’s 1996 alternative classic Songs for a Blue Guitar is back on vinyl in a 2LP, gatefold package. A fan and critic favorite, it features some of Mark Kozelek’s finest songs as well as inspired covers from Paul McCartney, The Cars and Yes.
