"This is the full length album that "Burn Your Own Church" should have been. If you're like me, Black Strobe will always be associated with their early work - "Chemical Sweet Girl", "Me and Madonna", "Innerstrings", "The Abwehr Disco", and the like. Their new vocal-heavy direction is interesting, but I vastly prefer the dark electro elements over Rebotini's vocal work. All the Black Strobe elements are out in full force and it's as good as anything they've ever done. It seems that Rebotini is just transferring the Black Strobe sound to his own name. If you have the "Chemical Sweet Girl EP", then you know what to expect. I suppose the main difference is in the lack of vocals, as "Music Components" is entirely instrumental. For my money, this is no big loss.
