Ivory coast soul 2 is the second part of the critically acclaimed Afro soul compilation released in 2010 and further extends the look at the most exciting period in Ivory Coast's recording history. After much painstaking research and investigative work, Afrobrazilero with the help of dj Julien Lebrun are finally able to catch-up and gather together some key members of seminal Afro and Psychedelic outfit. They selected 13 rare and sometimes unreleased afro-soul gems, centered mainly on the musically rich and creatively volatile Republic of the Ivory Coast from 1976 to 1981. All tracks are fully licensed. This new volume highlights some extraordinary music and immense talent working in a variety of styles and approaches, from Afro - beat , to Afro funk, soul soukous and latin rhythms, all mostly recorded in Abidjan. The triple vinyl is presented with posters, dozen of photos, original covers, interviews. The double cd is presented with a full colour 24 pages booklet with historical information written by Ivorian historian Anicet Boka. An amazing music period, a fertile decade when urban music transcended tribe conception, and when panafricanism wasn't a simple word, but a real philosophy and musical adventure.
