The Gabriels are a British-American soul pop trio from Los Angeles and are "2023's most talked-about band" (BBC News). Their singer Jacob Lusk with the voice hails from Compton and grew up listening to gospel music.
He sang in church and became nationally known in 2011 through his participation on American Idol, where he placed fifth. He then became a singer and choir director for the background vocals for performers such as Diana Ross and Gladys Knight. Ari Balouzian, classically trained San Fernando Valley musician and producer, and musician and producer Ryan Hope from England met Lusk in 2016 while searching for music for a commercial film, they came across Lusk. After their successful
collaboration, they stayed in touch and began began making music together. 2021 they released their first two EPs 'Love and Hate in a Different Time' and 'Bloodline' and had television appearances on Jools Holland in the UK and Jimmy
Kimmel in the US. A much acclaimed performance at the Glastonbury Festival and the appearance in the opening act of the tour of Harry Styles brought them in England the final breakthrough. "Angels & Queens - Part I" was accompanied by brilliant reviews when it was released at the end of September 2023 accompanied by glowing reviews. The two-part release came about because Gabriels wanted to share the already finished songs with the world as soon as possible. The second chapter now completes the tracklisting of the full album.
