jalowo – seijaku

As dark as life can be at times, I want to be reminded of the hope that’s inside us. Let the stillness speak, and feel its depth. Nothing lasts forever. Best we remember what is done in truth and sincerest love, for these will stay with us always.

The "Seijaku" EP is based on the Japanese aesthetic of seeking serenity in the midst of activity. Rather than escaping the world, seijaku is about finding true fulfillment at the core of one's life that cannot be shaken by any circumstance.

With the songs of this project, I hope to bring this concept into actuality as a listening experience. For me personally, music is one of the greatest influences on my emotional state of being. Each track features instrumentation, sampling, and ambience to convey the inward pursuit of stillness. Whether this EP is listened to in the midst of activity or at one's home with more intentional focus, I believe these songs can offer enjoyment and introspection all at once.
