So it comes as no surprise that ahead of London based jazz impresario Sean Khan‘s second album Muriel later this year. Henry Wu and Ben Hauke are known for their jazz-influenced beat making, and it seems to be a perfect fit to let them run wild on two of Khan’s shining tracks and bridge that gap between the worlds of hip-hop, house and jazz.
Today we’re premiering Henry Wu’s edit, imbuing the original track with a distinctly organic and off-kilter groove. The 22a associate’s loose and earthy quality makes for a perfect compliment to Khan’s delicious melting pot of jazz, soul and broken beat flavours. Sturdy yet swinging with strong jazzy synth stabs and topped with a child-like, wordless, sing-along vocal.
